Excel Question

Computer question if anyone can help?
I have a couple of Excel spreadsheets that I update weekly with info copied from websites, due to layout I have to copy the info into different columns and then sort into a readable format.

Spreadsheet 1 allows me copy the info into each column by just pressing paste.
Spreadsheet 2 lets me paste once, but the paste option isn't there for the next column unless I re-copy the info.

Not a huge problem, but not sure why the different rules for each. 
Can anyone help in letting me know what different setting I must have changed in the past?

Was a bit of a random question, just hoping for some Excel expert to say it was something really obvious that I was missing

Nothing wrong with Windows 7, 2003 version of Excel 

But    what the hell is mouse (paste special) 
I'm on Windows 7 now and I don't have a (paste special) on my mouse

Well I know a little about copy paste in Office. If you are on a document page then on the ribbon at the top you'll see on the left side a paste button, if you click on that you then get different paste options. The image below is from Excel in Office 2019 Pro.

When I worked for London Underground we got special discout for the Pro version of the Office suite I think it cost about £25

Have been using more modern office versions at work, but prefer the older one at home.
I prefer words to icons 

Anyway here's a pic with an example using info from the chart website, have the same problems with many sites.
If you just paste normally you end up with pictures and links to buy etc all in the same column, paste special just copies the text, but in multiple lines so needs sorting.
Although the original question was why does one spreadsheet allow multiple pastes, while the other only allows one paste without copying again?

OK... I'm getting an Idea of your problem now.

When you say ''chart website''

Which one ?

I think I know the problem you are having 

Try first past it to an empty txt file
then you can re-copy the bits you need without
getting the rubbish stuff you don't want

The website used as an example was https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-chart/

Pasting into a text file gets the same result but without the formatting so of no use.

Thanks for the help, but I think you're missing the original question of why does one excel document allow multiple pasting, and the other one doesn't.
Seems to be a setting in Excel somewhere that has been changed on one of them, and I can't find it.
If I paste the same info into spreadsheet #1 it allows me to paste again, if I paste into spreadsheet #2 the paste option is blank after the paste.

All getting far too complicated so should probably leave it there

Try creating 2 empty files and saving them. Then do the paste special into each.

The 'paste special' option has been available on every version of Word and Excel I've ever used?
Example below of what I get if I use 'paste special' against just using paste or ctrl-v

From what I remember from when we did this at work, the paste special removes the formating from what you're copying from the website and then pastes it as normail text hence why you wont see the images etc, although it is possible you'll see the placeholders for them
