Dave

I was asked to create two cupboards either side of a chimney breast in Billy (Shirl's son) and Lauren's dining room. They wanted it to look like this

This is what it ended up like.

Then start to fix the shelving they wanted

Once that was done, time to cut and fix the cupboard carcasses

Day 3

Cut and fix the finishing timber around the skirting and make sure it's all square.

Once that was done, it was time to cut and create the doors, that was also on day 3

Day 4

Start by cutting and fitting the tops to both cupboards. This wasn't easy as the walls were all out of square and one was also deeper than the other, so each piece was individually cut to fit. The right side had 2 full size pieces and a small piece at the back, and the left side just had 2 pieces.

Now try the doors in the hole and call it done for the day.

Billy is going to fill the holes and sand the lot down and then paint with the same colour as the walls.

When I'm next there, I'll get photos and post the finished job.

No not the same as that, but years ago I built some speakers with 12 Celestion bass, along with mid-range speakers and tweeters with a high-end crossover unit which stood 3ft high. It was stuffed with mineral fibre wadding and the sound was amazing.

I used them with my Technics separates, lovely sound from that equipment.

Yes, I have to admit it does look better than I thought it would. Initially I thought that the cupboards would look better white.

Everything has been painted BB
