Just got the urge to post some pictures, as it's pretty quiet here   ::)  :)
Bought a box of old singles down to look through them (and play a few), Then decided to take a few pictures, so here's about half of one of the boxes.
Some people like to go to art galleries, but record covers do it for me  ;)

Even have an occasionally updated blog site dedicated to it, if anyone's interested  ::)  Lee's Oldies

Great collection of Picture Sleeves.

I always regret never keeping the sleeves when
I was collecting back in the 60's & 70's.

They always ended up in those strong white cardboard
sleeves for the flight case record boxes.

I did buy about 500 of those thick cardboard sleeves and replaced the non picture sleeve ones, got up to the letter E as I remember.
Really regret getting rid of all those company sleeves now  :scratchhead
as a lot of the job lots I bought 10-15 years ago have tatty or white sleeves (or no sleeves) which I'd like to replace.

Have you converted those to digital format Lee?

I saw the Judge Dread 45 in the list too, I worked with him back in the 70s, I was his warm up act with the Tommy Vance Scenic Sounds Roadshow mobile unit.

Blog looks good too  :thumbup

Judge Dread was a big favourite of mine back in the day.
Once in a while in music class at school it was 'bring some records day' and someone always bought Big 6 or Big 7
which would get played far too much  :)

Every record I've ever owned is now in digital format, (apart from those on that wanted list I posted ages ago)
Only ripped the vinyl's for the hard to find one's.

Here's the second half of that box, another random selection of tunes.
Any price labels on them are records that I tried to sell back in the old days when Vinyl was really cheap  ::)

Great  :yes

I love all that old vinyl stuff  :thumbsup

Apart from Elvis Costello  :nono
His music is OK but he was an asshole back in his early days.
I did the PA for him and his band in 1979, it was in a club that
used to be the old Cavern Club in Liverpool.

Anyway....... great to see these old picture sleeves.

Thanks :tiphat

Thanks Brian  :thumbsup
Shame to hear about Elvis C, a lot of artists I've really liked over the years have turned out to be a bit dislikeable.
But they made tunes I liked at the time  :scratchhead

Will bring another box down this week and post some more  :)

Another bundle of randomness (only in the order they came out of the box).
One day I'll build some shelves and put them in order (been saying that for 30+ years)
or use the correct generic sleeves  ::)

The Stars on 45. I had 3 of those on 12" Abba, The Beatles and the one you showed in your pics when I was DJing, the punters used to go wild for them and I noticed there were some 'Magnet' singles in there too, I used to get promotion copies from them

In my later DJ-ing years I used to do 60's & 70's nights only so
my record boxes were sectioned in Years Order I found it much easier
than A > Z  :thumbup

Pointless me taking a picture of them, they are just record boxes :(

BTW: Great collection again Lee :tiphat

With the nights now getting longer, there's no better time to sign up and play quizzes and games. It cost nothing to join so come in and have some fun
